“You cannot begin to preserve any species of animal unless you preserve the habitat in which it dwells”. Inspired by the words of Gerald Durrell, artist Shirley created ‘Margo’ who is named after his sister. ’Margo’ is inspired by the flowers and plants found in the habitats of giant tortoises around the world. Without these habitats we must remember that these beautiful creatures cannot survive. A cheerful design but with a serious message! Designed and painted by Irish artist Shirley Copperwhite, who is a contemporary artist and designer. She is largely inspired by the natural world and its conservation for future generations.
